On a scale of one to ten, my personal organization level is a seven. I keep my papers in my binders. I carry a special folder, in which I store any papers I might need. Inside my binders, I have five sections: one for notes, one for homework, one for tests and quizzes, one for projects, and one for notebook paper. I always carry my pens and pencils in a pouch I have attached to my binder. I also carry a student planner, where I keep a record of my homework assignments and project due dates. As for my school books, I only take what I need, depending on the classes I'm going to, and then leave the rest in my locker. Even though I try to be organized, I still struggle with actually keeping my papers in order. I also don't write my homework down in my planner. I can remember what work I need to do, but not much. One thing I haven't taken accountability for is sorting out my papers. I keep all graded papers with the ones that haven't been or don't need to be graded. I also tend to put papers from one class in the binder I use for a different class.
The areas I need to improve are using my student planner and keeping my papers in order. When a teacher gives an assigment that is due a certain date, I need to write down what the assignment is and when it's due in my planner. I also need to sort through my papers to see which are graded and which aren't. I need to leave the ones that are graded at home and keep the ones that aren't graded in my planner until furthur notice. As for my binders, I need to keep my papers from one class seperate from the papers from another class. That way, I can have my binders organized with their appropriate class papers.
I will change today in two ways. First, I will write down my assigments in my planner, whether I am told to or not. Also, when I get home tonight, I will sort through my papers to see which ones need to be kept at home and which need to go back to school. These are just little ways I can improve my organizational skills. If I took one step at time in learning to organize my schoolwork, I could be able to work more efficiently.

Geometry Assessment 1.05
Hello, Mrs. Riley! What you are about to see is the 1.05 assessment. I chose to do Option 2 because I didn't understand how to find a partner for Option 1. Hope you like this.
Summary: For this debate, I chose to support Argument A. The argument states that there is a need for students to understand and be able to construct geometirc figures using a compass and straightedge. I chose to support this argument because the compass-and-straightedge method has been used for centuries. According to http://www.mathopenref.com/, "The ancient Greek mathematician Euclid is the acknowledged inventor of geomtry. Hid did this over 2000 years ago, and his book Elements is still regarded as the ultimate geometry reference." The quote refers to Euclid's extensive use of the compass and straightedge. I also think that learning to use a straightedge and compass will help students better understand the idea of constructing figures. If students were to use a drawing program, they won't learn as much because the computer does the constructing for them. That's why I believe it's important to use a straightedge and compass, rather than use a drawing program.
There are a few reasons why the method I chose is better. First of all, students can learn to use a compass and straightedge at a young age. On the website http://answers.yahoo.com/, it states that using a compass "develops drawing skills." Second of all, the method can be used not only in homework and projects, but also in practical life. For example, if you wanted to find the measurement of a coffee table, you could use a compass and straightedge to draw a figure of the table and measure the length of its angles. Third of all, using a compass and straightedge helps you get accurate measurements. A drawing program, however, does not always give you accurate measurements.
I think the drawing program is a bad idea for three reasons. The first reason is that a drawing program may not be accurate. You can make an angle on a program, put you can't be sure if the measurement of the angle is accurate. The second reason is that not everyone has access to a computer. If a student was in a place where she can't use a computer, she would have to work with a compass and straightedge. The third reason is that drawing programs are expensive. A student may own a computer, but she may not have the money to buy a program.

Choosing A Political Party (School Assignment 1)
If I had to choose a political party affiliation, I would choose to agree with the views of the Republican Party. There are a few reasons why I would choose the Republican Party. They are in favor of things that I believe are good for our country. They also are opposed to things that I believe are bad. They believe that the strength of our nation relies on the individual, which I believe to be true. Also, the Republicans believe that we as individuals should be in control of our own lives, not the government. I will explain the above reasons further more in this first blog entry.
The first reason I am in favor of the Republican Party is because I am also in favor of what they are in favor of. They believe that nuclear power is good because it creates less pollution than fossil fuels. They also believe that by drilling in ANWR, an area in Alaska that is rich in oil, we can have our own oil instead of buying some from countries that don't like us. I agree with the Republicans on the idea that we should have more religion taught in public schools so the students can learn more about God. When it comes to world peace, Republicans try to negotiate with world bodies, but they will take pre-emptive action if necessary. I think that's a great idea, because in the negotiation progress, each country gets what they want.
The second reason why I choose the Republican Party is I am also against what they believe is bad. They are against affirmative action, because they believe it to be another kind of discrimination. The Republicans are pro-life, which means they are against the abortion of unborn. I am also against abortion, mostly because I refuse to kill a baby who has not yet had a chance to live. I also agree with the Republicans about having physician-assisted suicide. Killing oneself is one thing, but having a doctor help one do it is completely ridiculous.
The last reason why I choose the Republican Party is because they believe that America's strength depends on the individuals. The main reason, however, is because they believe the individual should be in charge of their own life, not the government, which I agree with. The opposing party, the Democrats, believe the government should control the economy and tell the people how much money they should make. However, the Republicans believe that the individual, not the government, should decide how much money they want to make depending on their work ethic. The Democrats also believe that the government should protect the people from themselves. On the other hand, the Republicans believe it is the responsibility of the individual to decide how he or she lives.
All of the above information is why I would choose to have the same views as the Republican Party. I believe we should use nuclear power plants to generate electricity, we should drill for our own oil rather than buy oil from other countries, and we should be able to teach religion in public schools. I am against abortion, affirmative action, and physician-assisted suicide. To me, those things only lead to more discrimination, murder, and decrease in population. Like the Republicans, I believe that we as individuals should govern our own lives instead of letting the government control us. It's clear to me that the Republicans have firm views on social services and capitalism.
